POEM: "If--" Rudyard Kipling
EPIPHANIES: We read "On the Rainy River" and discussed how O'Brien fictionalized a true epiphany. In groups, we created our own short stories based on O'Brien's premise: a guy who needed to make the decision to either (a) do what was expected of him or (b) leave and do what he believed in. This is what you will be doing with your epiphany story.
- Read to meet your page goal.
- Be ready to write your fictional story. Feel free to get a head start over the weekend. You may choose to write in prose (regular short story form), poetry, a scene, or song. It must be around 1000 words in length.
- We weren't able to discuss the creative inspiration strategy you experimented with this week, so be ready to do on Monday.
